BLTC Member Update

Dear members,

We hope everyone enjoyed the recent Closed competition. It was a really great week at the club and once again thank you to the team who made it happen.

Just a few bits of housekeeping regarding court bookings. We are only mentioning below as a way of ensuring fairness across the board when it comes to booking courts. The peak hours between 7pm and 9pm Monday to Thursday are always extremely popular so in order to ensure everyone gets a chance to play we just want to highlight a few things:

Cancelling bookings:
1. We would like to once again ask you that if you are not using your court please cancel the booking as soon as possible.

Booking courts during peak hours:
2. We are seeing situations develop where people are booking courts during peak hours (7pm to 9pm Mon – Thurs) and they are booking singles games (two people on the booking) but four people are playing the game. Can we just ask that you respect the club rules that state players only book one hour of play during peak hours between 7pm and 9pm. This is to ensure fairness across the club and ensures that everyone gets a chance to play at popular times. We know mornings and lunchtime will not suit everyone but the club remains quiet throughout the day and over most weekends.

Names on the bookings:
3. Could we also ask that the people who are playing each game are listed on the booking only – if there are changes to the people playing you can make those changes on Smartclub. This is important for a number of reasons. Of course we know there might be some last minute changes to bookings when subs are needed ect but if you can at all we would appreciate it if you can have names of the people on the court at that time on the system.

Complaints or suggestions:
4. Can you please also respect the process when it comes to suggestions or complaints you may have. Committee members are club members too and deserve the right to come and play at the club without having to deal with complaints as they are going on or off the court. If you have an issue or recommendation please email our club secretary Eimear Morgan on
secretary@bltc.ie. Once you have emailed Eimear, all recommendations and/or issues raised will be reviewed by relevant members of the committee. For any matters relating to lost swipe cards please email admin@bltc.ie

You will soon find a list of club policies and rules on the notice board for reference.

We are always looking for new people to join the Committee and if you would like to get involved with the club committee for 2025 do let us know.

In addition to above, we would like to wish the best of luck to all of our teams taking part in Winter League competition over the coming months.

Also, Ireland's most successful tennis player Conor Niland will be at the club also on Wednesday and there are still a few tickets remaining so sign up on Smartclub if you would like to attend this event.

We also hope to give a further update on the development over the coming weeks.

Many thanks,

BLTC Committee
