Why Choose Us?

Welcome to Bishopstown LTC, a premier tennis club located in Cork, Ireland. Established in 1979, we have built a reputation for being a friendly and welcoming club, with a warm and inclusive atmosphere.

Our club boasts six outdoor floodlit artificial grass courts, as well as a clubhouse that features changing facilities, a function/meeting room, and a kitchen. Our modern facilities are accessible to all levels of tennis ability, from beginners who are just starting out with the sport to more experienced and competitive players.

We have a diverse membership of over 600 people, comprising people of all ages and backgrounds. We are situated in a convenient location in Bishopstown, with plenty of surrounding amenities to enjoy.

In addition to offering tennis facilities and training, we also participate in and hold junior, senior, and veteran competitions. We are always happy to welcome new members to the club, and invite you to have a look around our website or drop by in person to learn more about what we have to offer. Whether you are an experienced player or just starting out, we hope to see you on the courts soon!

Courts & Club

Our club features six high-quality outdoor artificial grass tennis courts, all of which are floodlit to allow for year-round play. We also have a spacious clubhouse with changing facilities, a members Lounge, and rooms that can be used for functions or meetings. In addition, our clubhouse includes a kitchen area.

Coaching & Coaches

At Bishopstown LTC, we are fortunate to have some of the most experienced and skilled coaches in the area. We offer a variety of programs to help players of all levels develop their skills, from young talents and beginners to experienced players.

Surroundings

Our club is located in a convenient and attractive location in Bishopstown, with ample parking and close proximity to the park. While you wait for your child to finish their coaching, you can enjoy a leisurely walk on the nearby 4km walking trail.

BLTC AGM Election of Club Officers for 2023 – Proposals

Dear Members,

 

Further to the communication on Tuesday 17th January outlining the agenda for our annual AGM on Wednesday night 25th,   the following provides additional information relating to Agenda Item 7,  Election of Officers for 2023.   Please note that our current Club Officers are (1) Chairperson,   (2) Vice Chairperson,   (3) Treasurer  (4) Captain and (5) Secretary,  in line with the BLTC Constitution. 

 

The following will be proposed, seconded and presented to Members for approval during the Meeting

 

  1. Election of Chairperson for 2023.    Niamh Hennessy will be stepping down from this role and Declan Forde has agreed to put his name forward for election as Chairperson

  2. Election of Vice Chairperson for 2023; Declan Forde will be stepping down from this role and Niamh Hennessy has agreed to put her name forward for election as Vice Chairperson

  3. Election of Treasurer for 2023;  Ed O’Sullivan will be stepping down from this role and Damian Furlong has agreed to put his name forward for election as Treasurer

  4. Election of Captain for 2023;  Rosita Murphy,  Current Club Captain has agreed to put her name forward for re-election as Captain

  5. Election of Secretary for 2023;  Mary Mahony,  Current Club Secretary has agreed to put her name forward for re-election as Secretary

 

If any other Club Member would like to submit their name for one of the above Club Officer roles for 2023,  please email admin@bltc.ie before 4pm on Wednesday in order for this to be factored into this Election of Officers agenda item.    Where there is more than one candidate for any of the above roles,   we will reach a successful outcome via a simple majority vote from those present at the AGM.   Any expression of interest received beyond the 4pm timeline on 25th cannot be accommodated on the night.         

 

Agenda Item 5 (2022 and 2023 Operating Model) will also provide us with an opportunity to remind everyone once again of who all the members of the 2022 Committee and various sub-committees are,   recognize the amazing efforts put in by everyone over the last year,    specifically thank some special people who are stepping down from Committee roles and also share where we still have some gaps to fill in our 2023 model.   

 

An exciting year ahead once more for our Club.   We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday night
