To Bishopstown Lawn Tennis Club Members
Tennis Ireland have just published their latest ‘Practical Guide for Tennis Clubs, Players and Coaches during Level 5 of the COVID-19 Restrictions’ which will come into effect from Monday 26th when a phased return to playing tennis, with restrictions, is planned. This document can be found on the TI website (link below) and we have also attached a copy of same. We would ask that all members take time to read this before April 26th
Essentially from April 26th we will be back to a situation very much in line with what was communicated to our members in late December 2020 under the Government and Tennis Ireland Moving to Level 5 guidance at that point in time;
-
Participants in unsupervised activity should be from a maximum of 2 households (this means that social play is restricted to singles only unless doubles partners are from the same household).
-
Changing Rooms to remain closed
-
Booking a court in advance is mandatory and all player names must be included in the booking
-
Social distancing must be maintained at all times before, during and after play; use of hand sanitizer dispensers is recommended
-
Members to respect and follow all the On Court Play guidelines listed in the updated TI documents
-
There should be no groups congregating around the Club house area and we would ask that everyone adheres strictly to a 1 in and 1 out approach where essential access to the Club House is required (essential Toilet use or Lights activation)
-
Junior Coaching sessions to reconvene in line with latest protocols
Our Covid 19 Compliance sub-committee, chaired by Shivaun Forde, gave considerable time in 2020 to supporting the safety of all our members and ensuring that our Club remained fully compliant throughout the pandemic phases. This sub-committee, made up of most of the same personnel, will look to continue those efforts in 2021. The BLTC Covid 19 Compliance sub-committee members for 2021 are Paddy O’Neill, Annette Dillon, Conor Twomey, Shivaun Forde, Andy Moriarity, Rachel Deakin and Declan Forde (Chair).
We are looking forward to the phased re-opening of our Club on April 26th and we are very hopeful that we will remain open and move through less restrictive phases through the summer months. The safety of all our members comes first and we want to reiterate that we are reliant on everyone to abide by all public health guidelines. We thank you sincerely in advance for your co-operation and we hope to see everyone back on court very soon
